My opinion

I was really looking forward to mocking Madonna.
I had thought that she would screech her way through some random crap while showing off her weirdly shaped chicken arms.

Man, was I wrong.

I actually dug her performance, a lot.  Sure, I kinda hate LMFAO and those two chicks, and CeeLo is meh.  But I thought that Madonna was kickin'.

I was a little put off, at first, with the partial lip syncing, until she started to throw down on the dance moves.  I can't even stand up in heels, and she was all over the place.
And, her scary chicken arms were all covered up.

I still think she's a stone cold bitch for the way she treats the general public - remember the flower incident? - but the show was what it was supposed to be, entertaining.

Plus, I think she looked downright giddy to be there. Nice to see something can still shake her ice queen veneer.

My thought was "She doesn't lip-synch like she used to, but who among us does?"

In general, the game was good, the half-time better than many, and the commercial meh. (I maybe missed some awesome commercials, but I suspect not.)

one commercial had Echo And The Bunnymen tune for the soundtrack.

After that I began drinking in earnest. I think a game was played, and I waited too long and never even got a bowl of my jambalaya, everybody snarfed it up so fast. Adding cocaine made it REALLY popular.

I caught myself worrying that she was going to fall... and then it'd be the home for her.

I made it through bits and pieces of the first half, but then Grizzled and I ducked out to catch a movie. We were two of six in the theater. :) It was nice.

I've never been particularly familiar with her work, and I was entirely unfamiliar with all the songs. But her show was a whole lot better than I expected it to be - way more dancing and less singing than I would have though, and she looks very good.

The game was interesting because it was always close, and because the defenses played better than one would have expected. The only reason the Giants won is they got pretty much every lucky bounce and marginal call the whole day. A little less luck, they lose one or two of those fumbles and the whole thing comes out different.

Was it a Gilette ad featuring "The Cutter"?

I thought Madonna friggin' BROUGHT IT. (Especially when compared to that crap the Black-Eyed Peas left stinking up the stage last year.)

Say what you will about her personally -- Madonna is all spit-n-polish in her performances. Really top notch. I think she set the bar higher for future acts.

Loved the Ancient-World-Meets-Sports theme. Loved the song choices. Her back-up people are always amazing. She even had a drum core!

Well played, Mo. Well played.

Never a fan of Madonna when she was all the rage. I saw her as a marketing genius and that was about it. But, I was into her Sunday night! I had sort of a proud feeling of her... that she put herself out like that and rocked it and looked good doing it! And for people who are awful and can only criticize her for being 53 -- suck it, haters!

I had a great time watching the game too. The playoffs then the Super Bowl have made me a football fan again. Although the Giants guy who made that last touchdown? I felt sorry for him. He tell into a touchdown and didn't get to enjoy that moment when it was the winning moment for him and his team. Oh well.

Oh, and, I thought all the commercials stunk.

FELL into a touchdown.

Madonna's not-as-bad-as-it-could-have-been performance is no reason not to mock her.

...of course, she is rich and I am not, so who am I to talk?
