Weekend in pictures

My weekend, in pictures.
Friday night:
Some of the best pizza I have EVER had. Burt's Place in Morton Grove, as seen on No Reservation with Anthony Bourdain. It was delicious. The company was fantastic, as usual. With my tricycle of awesome counterparts (Shannon and TheMarty) we had great conversation, much laughter, a little bit of snark. It was a great evening.
Saturday:
Fall Fest at North Park Village. Believe it or not those pictures were taken inside the city limits of Chicago. Family time. Nothing horrible to report, so I guess that's good.
Saturday night:
Dinner with Laura and then off to see "Paranormal Activity" with Laura, SD, and JP. Ok, not going to lie, that movie scared the shit out of me. I will admit that I screamed the entire final three minutes of the movie. I also slunk way down in my chair and covered my face with my jacket more than a few time. The movie was fantastic, the scariest I've seen in years. The pain picture you see I took while we were driving home. It was a Sherwin Williams store, but from the angle we were to the store the neon said Pain and I thought that was interesting.
Sunday:
Book club. Our book club's name is Not Your Momma's Book Club. We're a fun mix of chicks. We have our meetings in bars, drink good beers (sometimes wines), eat carbs, chat, get snarky. Oh, yeah, sometimes we also talk about books.
Even though I had very little down time, and no time to finish my homework, paint my nails or watch my Netflix, it was a pretty perfect weekend.

I read "Water for Elephants" a couple of summers ago and really liked it.

I'm tempted. Let me see what the calender looks like.

Is Burt's pizza deep dish?

I've had all sorts of pizza, especially New Haven and NYC. Not so much the deep dish sort.

Does Burt's offer Amygdala topping?

ITTDGY, Chicago deep dish is sublime. Gino's is commonly pointed to as the standard, but I believe there are others, and have not had the Chi-FRIENDS or fundage to fully investigate. Fortunately, there is a local joint, started by hippies in the 70s, that will BRING A CHI-DEEP-DISH PIZZA TO MY HOUSE!!

Plus, Von has a wonderful life, full of cool people and wonderful happenings, and the occasional cobag about which to blog. It is to be jealous.

FWIW, your comment and drawering has given me the spark, and I think the pencils will get their workout tonight.....

It isn't monkeys, per se, but it is life drawing, which has never been my comfort zone.

And capcha says artidst, so capcha knows you're watching....

I both really want to see Paranormal Activity and am worried what I will be like if I do. Blair Witch scared the living hell out of me, but at least I could comfort myself with the knowledge that I am not one to wander in the woods. But PA is inside the house! That could be my house.

Brando - I'm not going to lie. In my opinion it's scarier than Blair Witch. But I do recommend seeing it!!

I probably will give in and see it. But I doubt it will make it to the theaters here, which means watching it at home. I'll just plan on not sleeping that night.

Von, why didn't Clay and the others see that it was plainly a setup? They're not dumb. Jax knew it too....

Book club ROCKS!!!

Brava ZRM!!! I'm so glad you watched it!! It was totally a set up!! Not sure how they fell for it. Probably they will blame the rift between Jax and Clay.....can't wait for the big Big House episode next week!!! Whole lotta shanking goin' on!
